Why Wrestling?


An All-Around Great Youth Sport Leads to Developing Life Skills



Wrestling is a mentally and physically challenging sport that is open to anyone!

You do not have to be a naturally-gifted athlete to compete in this sport because wrestling matches are won based on many abilities such as; strategy, being in great physical shape, and fine-tuning your wrestling technique.

You do not even need to be a certain size to wrestle, because there are weight classes for every individual!

When you step out on the mat, it is just you and your opponent and this is where you learn to rely on yourself! The team wins because of the individual efforts of each wrestler. As part of this team you learn to work together and support each other. You celebrate successes and deal with defeats.

You have to work hard in wrestling. Gratification of a win may not be immediate for a young wrestler, but this teaches you how to handle loss and to move on.

Wrestling tests your strength and perseverance. Skills needed to be a good wrestler are commitment and focus and these skills transfer later on into your life and career.

Wrestling requires endurance, intelligence and quickness. It's is a tough sport, but if you work hard you can be successful!
