Eating Right

Please refer to the following website Harvard School of Public Health, The Nutrition Source and the Food Pyramid presented by the Department of Nutrition, Harvard School of Public Health, as shown below.
Dr. Ansleigh notes, "Pretty much, everything you need to know about diet is on this website", but he goes on to say that he "disagrees with them on the issues of potatoes, olive oil and trans fats."
Dr. Ansleigh comments,
"POTATOES: Prior to the Irish Potato Famine of 1838-42, the Irish peasants got 90% of their calories from potatoes, and they were the healthiest peasants in Europe. Of course, they ate the whole potato, and they didn't cook it in bad fats, and they didn't flavor it with bad fats, whereas the customs of our culture are absolutely the opposite.
OLIVE OIL: I think they don't give enough emphasis to how much better olive oil is than the other oils. It is hugely superior, as long as one is consuming virgin olive oil. "Virgin", in olive oil, means that the oil isn't extracted from the olive pulp using toxic petrochemical solvents. Yes, they actually do "ordinary" olive oil that way. And they feed it to us like it was good for us! Incredible, isn't it?
TRANS FATS: You will have to read down deep in their website to find the place where they say that you should avoid trans fats ("partially hydrogenated vegetable oil" or "vegetable fat" on food package ingredient lists) as much as possible. That should be written into their food pyramid, positioned above the point of the apex. Trans fats are like radiation--there is no healthy dose."
Dr. Ansleigh continues with keeping the above information in mind, "The Harvard pyramid is distinctly superior to anything else out there, and if you eat your potatoes whole, with no added junk fats, and you use only virgin olive oil, and you avoid trans fats like the chronic low-grade poison that they are, then you'll be just fine.."
